On 20th September, the ECS department of our college organized a seminar on Softwaretesting on topic Test design ProcessUnder the guidance of Faculty coordinator Aarti ma’am

Our event was joined by our alumni, Mr. Sharad Gohil. The seminar started at 03:00 pm sharp with the small introduction of the speaker Mr. Sharad Gohil given by Faculty Coordinator Aarthi Naik Ma’am.

The Seminar started with anintroduction to business world in which the speakerexplained about the Cooperate world and the respective teams that are related to software testing,and then seminar participants were divided into group of 5 members and every group was asked to brainstorm on any website/app they find interesting and name more than 5 modules in that website. Website/app selected by team were Flipkart, Snapchat, BookmyShow, Alibaba and so on. With this speaker started explaining about the Testing. What is Testing? Later on,he went explaining about 7 Principle of Testing which were,

Objectives: What are modern workspace skills? Why is it important in your position? How to measure it? How do you develop it? How do you use it back on the job?
Methods and Description: On the 29th December 2020, the Techfest was organized by IIT Bombay which focused on giving the industrial knowledge to all the students through the online platform Zoom. The event lasted 10 days long with 10 different industrial visits. Every student was requested to select any 3 visits, best suited according to her interest and degree pursuing. Some of the companies are listed below: – Johnson&Johnson. The speaker was called from the top authority of every company for each day. The very well explained all the detailed working of their industry right from the scratch. The speaker talked the job opens and as well as the responsibilities of joining as an industrial expert in any domain. Students learned all the important aspects of industrial working. At the end there was a brainstorming and information exchange session was followed and an e-certificate was provided to all the students as soon as they completed their quiz. Altogether, it was a great learning experience with great knowledge exchange.

Objective of the visit:

The visit to Automation Expo 2019 aimed at acquainting the students of Electronics Engineering with different upcoming ideas and innovations, that can create revolutionary progress in this era of Technology. It is the largest Automation & Instrumentation exhibition. It is an ideal platform for the Indian and global automation industry to converge and exhibit the cutting-edge technologies, advancements, systems, and services. Moreover, to make the theoretical concepts more resolved for the students, this visit was organized by the college faculty. To get information about various manufacturing companies, their products and the technology involved in making was one of the objectives. An initiative by the professors of the department helped the students know more and more about the newness of technology, scope of the field and areas of better job opportunities.

This event took place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E), Mumbai. The event was scheduled from 25th September, 2019 to 28th September, 2019. Automation Expo, South East Asia’s biggest show, extends a platform to many leading industries and companies to showcase their products and evolving technologies that help them survive in the domestic and global markets and sustain a better position due to intensifying competition.

The students of SLRTCE walked in at 11 a.m. after the registrations being completed at the entrance. Then, they were free to explore the entire exhibition which was huge and phenomenal with over 250+ exhibitors. Students came to know more about the companies they had just heard of. Every second stall was an introduction to something new in the field of technology. Here is a list of few out of many companies:

The entire session was an interactive session where the students were encouraged to use a mobile app for simulation of analog circuits. Various circuits were first discussed and the students were told to predict the output with the help of the analytical skills. DESCRIPTION

Dr. Dhananjay Patel, Post PhD from IIT Bombay,  Associate Professor in the department of Electronics and Telecommunication at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai conducted the seminar on Limiting the losses in optical fibers in Passive Optical Networks on 18th July 2019. This seminar provided students with an Several methods for millimeter wave up conversion based on Double Sideband Suppressed Carrier (DSBSC), Double Sideband with Carrier and Single Sideband using Mach Zehnder Modulator (MZM) have been reported.There are several theoretical and simulative studies on optical double sideband (ODSB) and optical single sideband (OSSB) Radio over Fiber (RoF) system. The simulations are carried out using Mach Zehnder Modulator (MZM) by varying its chirp and Extinction Ratio (ER) over different fiber link. In RoF systems, with the increase in RF frequency, the chromatic dispersion becomes severe thus reducing the transmission distance over fiber link. Thus a system is needed to reduce the effect of chromatic dispersion and increase the transmission distance. Further, the system using OSSB being more immune to dispersion effects as compared to ODSB systems can be used for long distance transmission.

MOTIVATION GIVEN:

DSBSC provides high receiver sensitivity, high spectral efficiency against ODSB and OSSB

Modulation techniques. However, the signal in DSBSC suffers due to non linear electro- optical

conversion response and imperfect power splitting ratio of MZM. The imperfect splitting ratio of MZM is caused by asymmetric power-splitting Y-branches due to fabrication tolerances leading to a finite Extinction Ratio (ER). Besides, if this signal is transmitted over a fiber, it will suffer more degradation due to the chromatic dispersion, thus reducing the transmission distance over fiber link. In this report, optical up conversion scheme using Double Sideband Suppressed Carrier (DSBSC) modulation is analyzed theoretically and using software simulation.

Further, we have shown through numerical analysis and software simulations that with the effect of Extinction Ratio (ER) of Dual Electrode Mach Zehnder Modulator (MZM) in Optical Single Sideband (OSSB) signal generation increases. The signal quality suffers due to the non linear electro- optical conversion response of MZM. Our results show that, with the proper selection of ER and Modulation Index (MI) of MZM, the OSSR increases along with the suppression of higher order sidebands. Also the report provides an insight on the generation and performance analysis of two different optical single sideband (OSSB) modulation techniques depending upon the phase angle of electrical hybrid coupler. The RF signal at the input of a dual drive Mach Zehnder Modulator (MZM) is divided in two parts equally with an electrical hybrid coupler providing a phase difference of 90о and 120о respectively. The conventional OSSB generation with 90о phase difference suppresses either lower or upper first order sideband, while 120о suppresses lower first order and upper second order sideband (or upper first order and lower second order sideband).

Event Details: A visit to IIT-Bombay Nanoelectronics department was organised by the faculty of Shree L. R. Tiwari College of Engineering for the students. IIT-Bombay has a set up for the nanofabrication processes for research purpose. And hence this visit was organised to have a brief idea about the theoretical concepts. Students were asked to report sharp at 9am at the main gate of IIT-Bombay. After completing the formalities, everyone reached the nanoelectronics building. There the students were divided into groups of 10. Each group was made to visit the various labs one by one accompanied by a research scholar there. Following topics were covered from the syllabus:

Deposition systems (CVD, ALD, PVD):

PVD Depositions: Silicon Nitride, Silicon Oxide, Silicon Oxy Nitride and Amorphous

Silicon. Types of substrates: 2”,4”,8”, small pieces of wafers- Si, glass, Quartz.

Temperature: Room temperature to 380 degree Celsius.

Process gas used: SiH₄, N₂O, CF₄, Ar, He, H₂, N₂, NH.₃

CVD: Instrument Provider: Oxford Instruments. Gases available: SiH₄, N₂O, CF₄, Ar, He, H₂N₂,NH₃. Films Deposited: SiNx, SiOx, SiOxNy. Wafer Dimensions: Small pieces, 125x125mm, 156x156mm

ALD: Switch ON MCB behind the system. Phase MCB is for pump and 1 Phase MCB is for equipment. Switch on the rotary pump. On display panel press control- Press Pump and Enter. GN2 for solenoid operations should be at 80 psi.

Molecular Beam Epitaxy:

MBE takes place in high vacuum or ultra-high vacuum (10-8 Pa). The most important aspect of MBE is slow deposition rate (typically less than 1000 nm per hour), which allows the films to grow epitaxially. The slow deposition rates require proportionally better vacuum to achieve the same impurity levels as other deposition techniques.

Furnaces for oxidation, diffusion and annealing (2-inch, 4 inch):

During semiconductor device fabrication, thin film growth and deposition steps typically occur more number of times than any other process. These are often critical processes that require careful thickness and quality control. For example, during silicon transistor fabrication, growth of thin film SiO₂ is generally required immediately after the RCA clean process. This oxide can be grown on the Si wafer surface using different process that define its growth rate and quality. Whatever is the chosen process, maintaining the tight control of the process conditions and minimizing contamination on the wafer surface during the growth process is critical for final device performance. Hence, separate process-based oxide growth furnaces are needed for the same.

Etch tools (STS RIE, Etch Centura and Edge Isolation tool):

While a lithography process is used to write micrometre/nanometre-sized patterns on a resist layer, a different technique is needed to transfer those patterns from the resist onto the main layer on the semiconductor wafer. Wet etching and dry etching are the most commonly used processes to achieve this goal. Dr etch usually refers to material removal or patterning using a chemically reactive plasma. When a lithographic patterned sample is introduced into this plasma, ionic species bombard and chemically react with the exposed areas, while the resist patterned areas are left protected. This method is anisotropic whereas wet etch is isotropic in nature. As a result, this method is preferable.

Lithography Tools:

IITBNF has multiple optical lithography tools with different dimension limits. They also have a laser writer system that is capable of producing mask plates with micrometre sized (patterns for use in optical lithography tools. The best resolution at IITBNF (< 20nm) is achieved through the state-of-the-art e-beam lithography tool. This tool can also be used for silicon dioxide and metal deposition using its electron beam induced deposition (EBID) feature. For both optical and e-beam tools, resist spinners dedicated to different types of resists are available with capabilities to process 2”, 4” and 8” wafers. All lithography tools housed in separate clean rooms with tight control over temperature and lighting conditions.

Plasma Immersion Ion Implanter:

As CMOS device gate length has shrunk to 45nm, the short channel effects (SCE) becomes very severe. To reduce SCE, one of the solutions is to make very shallow S/D junctions. For the same, implant energy is less than 2keV is required, where commercial Ion Beam Implanters have several issues like beam current instabilities at low voltages. PIII is very suitable for ion energy even at 200V operation. This system uses BF₃ and PH₃ gases for Boron (p type) and Phosphorous (n type) implants in Si wafers.

Students have understood the concepts better and have come to know about the actual practical set up of nanofabrication processes. A visual idea was obtained by this visit about the Clean Room and Si wafers.

MOTIVATION GIVEN:

metamaterial (from the Greek word μετά meta, meaning “beyond”) is a material engineered to have a property that is not found in naturally occurring materials. They are made from assemblies of multiple elements fashioned from composite materials such as metals or plastics. The materials are usually arranged in repeating patterns, at scales that are smaller than the wavelengths of the phenomena they influence. Metamaterials derive their properties not from the properties of the base materials, but from their newly designed structures. Their precise shape, geometry, size, orientation and arrangement gives them their smart properties capable of manipulating electromagnetic waves: by blocking, absorbing, enhancing, or bending waves, to achieve benefits that go beyond what is possible with conventional materials.

Potential applications of metamaterials are diverse and include optical filters, medical devices, remote aerospace applications, sensor detection and infrastructure monitoring, smart solar power management, crowd control, radomes, high-frequency battlefield communication and lenses for high-gain antennas, improving ultrasonic sensors, and even shielding structures from earthquakes. Metamaterials offer the potential to create superlenses. Such a lens could allow imaging below the diffraction limit that is the minimum resolution that can be achieved by conventional glass lenses. A form of ‘invisibility’ was demonstrated using gradient-index materials. Acoustic and seismic metamaterials are also research areas.

MOTIVATION GIVEN:

Due to advancements in the mobile technology and the presence of strong mobile platforms for internet access, it is now possible to use the streaming media technology in mobiles. A relatively new term in the field of technology is Over the Top which is somehow can be considered as an extension or a variation of video on demand. It allows users to update and interact anywhere at any time. This technology is very interesting and interactive and therefore there is a vast range of potential applications in the field of medicine, manufacturing, urban planning, architecture, archaeology, education and many more.  Nowadays with the rapid developments in web and mobile computing technologies and new learning theories, web and mobile learning, the use of Over the Top technology will further enhance the outcome of studies and makes it more interesting.

Over the Top is found to be very effective in the field of teaching and this can be used in order to build interest of students and young children to the study concepts which are imaginary and are difficult to understand. By Merging the the concepts of Over the Top, Augmented Reality and mobile learning, we can develop an interactive mobile augmented reality application based on the best learning practices in which the interactive science book will act as a marker and the web and the mobile camera will work as a tracking device to trigger the new level of study experience of general science concepts.

Students of TE ETRX SLRTCE  visited hospital for study and demonstration of some instruments like ECG machine, blood pressure measurement equipment and Defibrillator.

 They observe various function and application of instruments and they demonstrated how it works practically

  • ECG Machine –Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG) is the process of recording the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time using electrodes placed over the skin. These electrodes detect the tiny electrical changes on the skin that arise from the heart muscle’s electrophysiological pattern of depolarizing and repolarizing during each heartbeat. It is very commonly performed to detect any cardiac problems. In ECG machine reading it shoes amount Of  oxygen in body and various parameter etc.
  • Blood pressure measurement – The auscultatory method (from the Latin word for “listening”) uses a stethoscope and a sphygmomanometer. This comprises an inflatable (Riva-Rocci) cuff placed around the upper arm at roughly the same vertical height as the heart, attached to a mercury or aneroid manometer. The mercury manometer, considered the gold standard, measures the height of a column of mercury, giving an absolute result without need for calibration and, consequently, not subject to the errors and drift of calibration which affect other methods.useof mercury manometers is often required in clinical trials and for the clinical measurement of hypertension in high-risk patients, such as pregnant women.  A cuff of the appropriate size is fitted smoothly and also snugly, then inflated manually by repeatedly squeezing a rubber bulb until the artery is completely occluded. It is important that the cuff size is correct: undersized cuffs record too high a pressure; oversized cuffs may yield too low a pressure. Usually three or four cuff sizes should be available to allow measurements in arms of different size.  Listening with the stethoscope to the brachial artery at the antecubital area of the elbow, the examiner slowly releases the pressure in the cuff
  • Defibrillator – Defibrillation is a treatment for life-threatening cardiac dysrhythmias, specifically ventricular fibrillation (VF) and non-perfusing ventricular tachycardia (VT). A defibrillator delivers a dose of electric current (often called a countershock) to the heart. Although not fully understood, this would depolarize a large amount of the heart muscle, ending the dysrhythmia. Subsequently, the body’s natural pacemaker in the sinoatrial node of the heart is able to re-establish normal sinus rhythm In contrast to defibrillation, synchronized electrical cardioversion is an electrical shock delivered in synchrony to the cardiac cycle. Although the person may still be critically ill, cardioversion normally aims to end poorly perfusing cardiac dysrhythmias, such as supraventricular tachycardiawe understood that Defibrillator is used only when there is emergency When the patients heart stops working, shock is given to trigger the heart otherwise pacemaker is used.

Department of Electronics of SLRTCE,Mira Road ,organized one day Industrial visit to Reliance Thermal Power plant,Dahanu. Visit was organized with prior permission by principal Dr.S.Ram Reddy with initiative and efforts of faculty members Samita Bhandari and HOD Abhijit Somnathe.46 students along with three staff members visited on 10th oct.2017.

About Reliance Thermal Power Plant

Dahanu Thermal Power station (DTPS)is Reliance Energy Ltd’s 500MW capacity power plant. There are two units of 250 MW capacity.The power plant was commissioned in1995.DTPS is the first power utility to get both ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 certificate in India. Electrostatic precipitors are installed to collect fly ash and minimize emission to the atmosphere.The stack has diameter of 31.5 m at bottom and 16 m at top. This is highest stack in Asia.

After reaching at the gate  we undergone security process .At seminar hall Mr. Marathe coordinator from DTPS has given small presentation explaining all the function and set up for the power station.He has explained the model as well.  Then we took walk through of the campus where actual set up he explained . Coal is transporting from chattisgad for that railway tack is there inside the campus.Heating  coal and water in boiler thermal energy is generated and it is given to generator to generate electrical energy. Electrical energy is then collected and transmitted to Mumbai and Dahanu.

Mr.Yogesh Konde conducted the seminar on Basic Knowledge on database on 1’st April 2017. This seminar provides a foundation in data management concepts and database systems. Objective of the visit:

The visit to Automation Expo 2017aimed at acquainting the students of Electronics Engineering with different upcoming ideas and innovations, that can create revolutionary progress in this era of Technology. Moreover, to make the theoretical concepts more resolved for the students, this visit was organized by the college faculty. To getinformationabout various manufacturing companies, their products and the technology involved in making was one of the objectives. An initiative by the professors of the department helped the students know more and more about the newness of technology, scope of the field and areas of better job opportunities. 

Event Details: This event took place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E), Mumbai. The event was scheduled from 9th August, 2017 to 12th August, 2017. Automation Expo, South East Asia’s biggest show, extends a platform to many leading industries and companies to showcase their products and evolving technologies that help them survive in the domestic and global markets and sustain a better position due to intensifying competition.

The students of SLRTCE walked in at 11 a.m. after the registrations being completed at the entrance. Then, they were free to explore the entire exhibition which was huge and phenomenal with over 250+ exhibitors. Students came to know more about the companies they had just heard of. Every second stall was an introduction to something new in the field of technology. Here is a list of few out of many companies:

  • PCB POWER: It is an online PCB specialist company located in Gandhinagar, Gujrat. This company designs PCBs as per the requirement posted by the customer online on their website pcbpower.com. They do allow Industrial visits for college students.
  • MENZEL VISION AND ROBOTICS PVT. LTD. : Based in Mumbai, they design Machine Vision products.
  • TAC AUTOMATION PVT. LTD. : They specialise in HMI, PLCs, Inverters, Servo Drives, etc. They are located in Delhi.
  • TAMRON INDIA PVT. LTD. : This Industry is in Haryana. As per their tagline, they provide eyes for industries. In other words, they manufacture high quality Industrial Lenses.
  • BHOLANATH PRECISION ENGINEERING PVT. LTD. : They are the only company in India that manufactureMotors. Their factory is at Shahpur, Thane while their office is located at Bhandup, Mumbai.
  • UNIVERSAL ROBOTS. : They are involved in the manufacturing of 6 axes collaborative industrial robot (cobot) arm to mimic the range of motion of a human arm.
  • ELECTRONIC SWITCHES :They specialise in big display indicators, digital counters, proximity switches, level sensors, etc. This company is based in Nashik.
  • COMPUCARE : These are manufacturers and dealers of CCTVs, LED display board, production monitoring systems, safety solutions, etc. Their office is in Vadodara and their set up extends into cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Bangalore.

Apart from these companies,organizations like Nanjing Wotian Technology Co. Ltd. (China), Qinhuangdao Jialong Glass Co. Ltd.(China), Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (Taiwan), Puls (Singapore) and other such organizations from neighbouring countries were also a part of this meet.

All the brands and companies present there were a step forward from each other and are dominating with their ideas globally.

This show was also a platform to students from different colleges who could exhibit their final year projects to the visitors.

  • Molecule Bam Epitaxy (GaAs/InGaAs) Molecular beam epitaxy takes place in high vacuum or ultra-high vacuum (10-8 Pa). The most important aspect of MBE is the slow deposition rate (typically less than 1000 nm per hour), which allows the &ilms to grow epitaxially. The slow deposition rates require proportionally better vacuum to achieve the same impurity levels as other deposition techniques.
  • Furnaces for oxidation ,diffusion and annealing(2 inch,4inch) During semiconductor device fabrication, thin film growth and deposition steps typically occur more number of times than any other process. These are often critical processes that require careful thickness and quality control. For example, during silicon (Si) transistor fabrication, growth of a thin film of silicon dioxide (SiO2) is generally required immediately after the RCA clean process. This oxide can be grown on the Si wafer surface using different processes that define its growth rate and quality. Whatever the chosen process, maintaining tight control of process conditions and minimizing contamination on the Si wafer surface during the growth process is critical for final device performance. Hence, separate process-based oxide growth furnaces are needed for the same.
  • Etch tools(STS RIE,EtchCentura&Edge isolation tool) While a lithography process is used to ‘write’ micrometer/nanometer-sized patterns on a resist layer, a different technique is needed to transfer these patterns from the resist onto the main layer on the semiconductor wafer. Wet etching & dry etching are the most commonly used processes to achieve this goal.Dry etch usually refers to material removal or patterning using a chemically reactive plasma. When a lithographically patterned sample is introduced into this plasma, ionic species bombard and chemically react with the exposed areas, while the resist-patterned areas are left protected. This method of pattern transfer from resist to the main layer using dry etch technique is anisotropic, whereas wet etch processes are typically isotropic in nature. As a result, dry etching is the preferred process for pattern transfer of small dimensions (≤ 10μm) and is often one of the critical steps in a semiconductor device fabrication run.

IITBNF has multiple optical lithography tools with different pattern dimension limits. We also have a laser writer system that is capable of producing mask plates with micrometre-sized patterns for use in the optical lithography tools. The best resolution at IITBNF (< 20 nm) is achieved through our state-of-the-art e-beam lithography tool: Raith 150 Two. This tool can also be used for in-situ silicon dioxide and metal deposition using its electron beam induced deposition (EBID) feature. For both optical & e-beam tools, resist spinners dedicated to different types of resists are available with capabilities to process 2”, 4” & 8” wafers. All lithography tools are housed in separate clean rooms with tight control over temperature, humidity & lighting conditions.

  • Plasma immersion ion implaner. As CMOS device gate length has shrunk to 45nm, the short channel effects (SCE) become very severe. To reduce SCE one of the solution is to make very shallow S/D junctions. For the same, we require implant energy less than 2KeV, where commercial Ion Beam Implanters have several issues like beam current instabilities at low voltages. PIII is very suitable for ion energy even at 200V operation. This system uses BF3 and PH3 gasses for Boron (ptype) and Phosphorus (n-type) implants in Si wafers.
  • Gas injection system.

Event outcomes  – Students come to know about actual practical set up of fabrication of nanodevices/ MEMS devices. They can visualize silicon wafers, cleanroom.

“Semiconductor devices and Fabrication” held on 04th February, 2017. 

A seminar on “Semicondcutor devices and Fabrication” was delivered by Prof. Dharti Patel on 4th Feb, 2017 for the target audience of TE: ETRX organised by the Electronics department of Shree L.R.Tiwari College Of Engineering.

Prof. Dharti Patel, is currently Assistant Professor in department of Electronics Engineering at Padambhusan Vasantdada Patil College of Engineering, Mumbai University. He has 09 years of teaching experience with various university. He has various publications to her credit in International conferences and Journals. His research interests include CMOS analog circuits, IC fabrication and VLSI testing.

The objectives of the seminar were to provide an overall idea about various fabrication techniques for IC designing and emerging trends in VLSI design, multigate devices, spintronics, IoT and system on chip (SoC) to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

Additionally, to understand practical implementation of fabrication techniques, layout design rule with various circuit designing has been explained using Mircowind layout editor.

The Department of ETRX has made proper arrangements for transportation for the guest to the campus. The Department has made the necessary arrangements for the Subject Based Guest Lecture activity in the new seminar hall for commencement of the event in scheduled time. The B.E. students are made to sit in the new seminar hall before the start of the lecture. The guest lecture incharge, Prof. Manjiri maam  had started the event by inviting the guest of honor Prof. Suhas Sahasrabudhe  on to the dais to deliver the lecture. Prof. Suhas Sahasrabudhe has started the lecture by discussing about how the Embedded systems is emerging day by day. He explained the purpose of embedded systems in our present day of life. He also explained how it is a useful tool for engineers and community. He gave a brief overview of the research activity going on in this field in India and what are the expected future outcomes. He then gave introduction about Internet of Things (IOT) and explained how they can be implemented.

He illustrated the Internet Of Things with the help of Car. He finally shown the carrier path in the field of embedded systems . The Faculty of ETRX, students have actively participated in this session by expressing their doubts and got them clarified. More than 50 students had taken active participation in the event. At the end of the Subject based Guest Lecture Prof. Suhas Sahasrabudhe have shared his mail address with students and asked them to contact him if any help in research is needed. Due to advancements in the mobile technology and the presence of strong mobile platforms, it is now possible to use the revolutionising augmented reality technology in mobiles. A relatively new term in the field of technology is Augmented Reality (AR) which is somehow can be considered as an extension or a variation of virtual reality. It allows users to experience the real world with virtual objects superimposed upon or composited with the real world. Augmented Reality (AR) technology supplements the real world with composite 3D virtual objects that are integrated into the real world. This technology is very interesting and interactive and therefore there is a vast range of potential applications of Augmented Reality (AR) such as in the field of medicine, manufacturing, urban planning, architecture, archaeology, education and many more.  Nowadays with the rapid developments in web and mobile computing technologies and new learning theories, web and mobile learning, the use of Augmented Reality will further enhance the outcome of studies and makes it more interesting.

Augmented reality is found to be very effective in the field of teaching and this can be used in order to build interest of students and young children to the study concepts which are imaginary and are difficult to understand. By Merging the these two concepts of Augmented reality and mobile learning, we can develop an interactive mobile augmented reality application based on the best learning practices in which the interactive science book will act as a marker and the web and the mobile camera will work as a tracking device to trigger the new level of study experience of general science concepts.

Prof. Shamira Syed, is currently working as Assistant professor at M.H. Saboo Siddik College Of Engineering,(Mumbai University) in Department Electronics Engineering. She has 8 years of teaching plus industrial experience. He has various publications to his credit in International conferences and Journals. Her research interests include Micro-Controller and its Application, Embedded Systems and Micro Electro-Mechanical System.

Internet of Things (IoT) gained a great attention from researchers, since it becomes an important technology that promises a smart human being life, by allowing a communications between objects, machines and everythings together with peoples. IoT represents a system which consist things in the real world, and sensors attached to or combined to these things, connected to the Internet via wired and wireless network structure. The IoT sensors can use various types of connections such as RFID, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ZigBee, in addition to allowing wide area connectivity using many technologies such as GSM, GPRS, 3G, and LTE.

 

IoT-enabled things will share information about the condition of things and the surrounding environment with people, software systems and other machines. by the technology of the IoT, the world will becomes smart in every aspects, since the IoT will provides a means of smart cities, smart healthcare, smart homes and building, in addition to many important applications such as smart energy, grid, transportation, waste management and monitoring . A seminar on “The Microcontrollers” was delivered by Prof. Suhas Sahasrabudhe on Aug. 01st, 2015 for the target audience of TE: ETRX organised by the Electronics department of Shree L.R.Tiwari College Of Engineering.

Prof. Suhas Sahasrabudhe, is currently the Head in the department of Electronics Engineering at Universal college of Engineering, Mumbai University. He has 20 years of teaching plus industrial experience. He has various publications to his credit in International conferences and Journals. His research interests include Wireless communication, Embedded Systems and Global Positioning System.

The objectives of the seminar were to provide an introduction to world of micro-controllers and prepare the attendees to start studying and learning about them without constantly stumbling over basic concepts and vocabulary. This seminar didn’t focus on making anyone an “instant expert” but on making it a lot easier getting started with learning this fascinating and useful technical discipline.

The seminar acquainted the attendees with the common functional blocks in the micro-controller 8051 and how they can be used in power supply design. The oscillators, without which no micro-controller can work, were reviewed. Next, timers and interrupts were discussed. Then functions like A/D and D/A converters were presented. Without digital signal processing we would have no mobile phone audio, no laptop audio, no photo shop. We cannot accurately have an ECG without digital signal processing. Half of the world communication and IT industry relies on Digital signal processing. But, it is very difficult to cover various topics in only theory lectures. So, the main objective of the seminar was to make students understand the practical importance of the subject. To make them understand that once you receive an analog signal, you are unable to apply any modern modification techniques to the signal such as filtering, noise cancelling, enhancing, distorting, smoothing or anything without using digital techniques.

Outcome : In this seminar description about the various digital signal processing techniques and its various applications were discussed. And also description about various DSP processors was given. DESCRIPTION

Mr. Naveen Porwal conducted the seminar on ‘CORE JAVA CONCEPTA’ on 17th January 2015. This seminar provided students with an overview of the concepts and fundamentals of JAVA. Topics covered in seminar included: abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism.

MOTIVATION GIVEN: Java’s primary motivation was platform independence and not internet. Platform independence means the ability to write a program on one platform and run it on any other platform without worrying about the platform specific features, which is nothing but a portable software. If it works on one platform, it should work on all other platforms. e.g., platforms are Unix, Mac, Windows, Android.

Platform independence could be achieved for a C/C++ program, by compiling it for every platform. But C/C++ compilers are expensive to build and also there could be differences between platforms which causes inconsistencies in the program execution. So achieving portable software using C/C++ is difficult and error prone. This is also referred as WOCA = Write Once, Compile Anywhere.

Mr. Satish Bhoyar conducted the seminar on ‘Design Constraints of Microstrip Antennas and its solutions’ on 19th July 2014. This seminar provided students with an overview of the concepts and fundamentals of Antenna. Topics covered in seminar included: Design of Microstrip Antenna Array, Design Techniques for Conformal Microstrip Antennas, Wideband Microstrip Antenna Design, Performance of Microstrip Antenna of Different Substrates and Geometries.

MOTIVATION GIVEN:

During the last decades a high development of the technology has arisen in high- performance aircraft, spacecraft, satellite, telecommunications, and missile applications, where size, weight, cost and performance are constraints. To meet these requirements, Microstrip antenna can be used. A Microstrip patch antenna consists of patch, substrate, ground plane and feeding point. The development of efficient design techniques for conformal Microstrip radiators, assisted by state-of-the-art computational electromagnetic tools, is desirable in order to establish clear procedures that bring about reductions in computational time, along with high accuracy results. The concern for designing conformal Microstrip arrays is how to implement a feed network that can impose appropriate excitations (amplitude and phase) on the array elements to synthesize a desired radiation pattern.

 A seminar on “ How to be technopreneurs ” was delivered by Shri Sunilkumar Dwivedi on Oct. 04th , 2014 for the target audience of TE: ETRX organised by the Electronics department of Shree L.R.Tiwari College Of Engineering.

Mr. Sunilkumar Dwivedi, is currently the Manager marketing at Runwal builders. He has 5 years of teaching plus industrial experience. He has various publications to his credit in International conferences and Journals. His research interests include marcom,manpower training, communication etc.

The objectives of the seminar were to provide an introduction to world of Technopreneurs combine the power of technology with the spirit of entrepreneurship. They create new products that can be sold by new businesses. They find high-tech ways to keep us informed, entertained, and connected every day. Here, we go through the in’s and out’s of being a technopreneur and, in the end, how you can become one too:

The seminar acquainted the attendees with the Technopreneurs are different from inventors. Inventors come up with ideas, but technopreneurs put them into action. Their businesses provide jobs and challenges and opportunities for new workers. They have a much larger impact than inventors, as the inventors are the only ones benefiting monetarily from their inventions, whereas technopreneurs provide job opportunities to the common man and benefit the whole society.

Technopreneurs are successfully gaining traction in the Middle East. Take the example of the websites, which shows news in all languages and the news is centric to that specific region.It is a simple enough idea and yet has gained a lot of traction and is working better than anyone expected. The website owners choose simple topics that are the requirements of the local people and make them easily available for the people. One simple example is the price of dollars in Egypt. This saves the business men trips to local money exchangers.

It is simple ideas like these that the technopreneurs need to focus on instead of making big promises which they find hard to deliver later on.
