Topic of Seminar: Industrial Application of Polymers

Objectives:-
 To understand the current challenges in polymer industry.
 Morphology and properties of multicomponent polymer material.
 Mechanical properties of polymer materials.
 Polymer composites and nanocomposites.
Methods and Description:-
Dr. Bhushan Mulgaonkar conducted the seminar on ‘Industrial Application of Polymers’ using
power point presentation. Concepts are illustrated by concrete examples taken from industrial
practice and the experience of the teachers. He used relevant models and theories described in
literature to predict the propertie of specific polymer material. He summarized the
scientific,technological and industrial state of the art for a particular class of polymer materials
or a particular set of relevant properties.
Outcomes:-
 Understood the strengths and weaknesses of the major classes of the polymer material for
the typical application.
 Knowledge of polymer processing operations and choice of operation depending on the
material and final product requirement.

Methods and Description:-
Prof. Avinash sarode has conducted seminar on Wireless technology using power point
presentation. He gave brief knowledge about different types and working methods of Wireless
Network. He explained basic features, use, benefits of the subject and its impact. This seminar
covered every aspect of Wireless networks like cordless telephones, mobiles, GPS units, ZigBee
technology, wireless computer parts, and satellite television, etc. and their importance and need
in engineering background.
Outcomes:-
 Attendees were benefited by new updates in communication network.
 They come to know expandability, advantages, and disadvantages of wireless network.
 Students were motivated towards use to wireless technology in engineering subjects.

Topic of Seminar: Importance of Basics of Electrical Engineering

Objectives:

2. To give insights on fundamental concepts of Basics Electrical Engineering useful for
understanding of subject

Method and Description:
Prof. Poorva Waingankar conducted the seminar on importance of Basic Electrical Engineering
using power point presentation. She explained basic fundamentals of electrical engineering
covering practical application. She also covered the modules to be prepared from exam point of
view according to the weightage of topics. She gave preparation strategy wherein dos and donts
for university exam were explained.
Outcome:
1. Students had a deep insight about the subject by correlating theory knowledge and practical
application.
2. Students were benefitted with strong conceptual understanding of the subject in easy way.
3. Students get Dos and Don’ts for end semester university exam helping to score high by
applying simple rules.

Topic of Expert Lecture: Guidelines on Training and Placement

Objectives:-
 To assist the students in their career planning .
 To provide information that helps them to give a direction to their aspirations and
interests.
Methods and Description:-
In this session students were briefed about the opportunities available in different streams of
engineering. The lecture showed a new dimension and the students got more information about
the recent trends. The increase in competition for employment everyday and challenging task of
placement has been discussed. They were informed about the training activities of Training and
Placement Cell. Communication and vocabulary skills were emphasized.
Outcomes:-
 Understood the importance of practicing engineering both professionally and ethically in
a competitive global environment.
 Helped them to become familiar with industry expectations.
 Got the guidance on the core skils required by the industry.

This lecture includes nanoscience i.e. science of nanomaterials and with comparative study of
properties of bulk materials. Lecture was also focused on application of nano materials in
industry.

Outcomes :
 Students understood nanoscience concept.
 Under stood need of study of nanoscience.
 They came to know application of nanomaterials.
